MSc thesis project proposal

Multi-Sensor Fusion Based Relative Positioning

Project outside the university

Philips Research

Fusion is important in many different applications, such as indoor localization. In this project, data from multiple sensors will be used to accomplish this localization task. Location information is for instance important to smartly control an LED lighting system. This project will be a joint effort between Philips Research (contact person Dr. Ashish Pandharipande, ashish.p@philips.com) and the Circuits and Systems group of the Delft University of Technology.

Assignment

In this MSc project, you will develop new data fusion algorithms for localization.

Requirements

For this project, we are looking for a master student in either electrical engineering, applied physics, mathematics, computational science or any related study. Furthermore we are looking for a student who has a background in signal processing, sensors, basic statistical techniques, and programming skills in Matlab and/or C/C++. Strong communication (written and verbal) skills in English is a must. Expected project duration is about 9 to 12 months.
